The Ice Dragon

Cold breeze from the sea, the ice-dragon’s licking the back of my neck while the sun glares.

The moving van is burning with cool flames.

  1. “Two opposing forces inhabit a poem: one of elevation or uprooting, which pulls the word from the language: the other of gravity, which makes it return. The poem is an original and unique creation, but it is also reading and recitation: participation. The poet creates it; people by recitation recreate it. Poet and reader are two moments of a single reality.”

Ah…lovely. I think it is easy to short the recitation part. Paz is worth reading aloud. Thanks for this.
