The Lion of 39th Street–a fifty word mini saga

Rather than freeze in the Portland sleet, Arthur left his street corner early, found an empty garage and lay down on his cardboard sign. He remembered a song from his childhood about the Duke of York marching his men uselessly uphill all day and laughed. He drifted slowly into sleep and then beyond into death watching the Dukes men going up and down the hill.
